Ensemble Eins invites young composers to submit new works for the C10 Project 2026.

The C10 Project goes beyond selecting works for a single performance. It is a project in which composers and performers work together to read, develop, and refine new works while building lasting creative relationships.

Through the open call, six works will be selected for a Reading Session with Ensemble Eins. From these, three works will be selected for their world premieres in Seoul. Following the Seoul concert, one work will be selected for the Final Performance in Daegu. The composer whose work is selected for the Final Performance will be considered for a future commission by Ensemble Eins.

1. ELIGIBILITY

• Composers under the age of 35 as of October 31, 2026 (born on or after November 1, 1991)

• Open to all nationalities and countries of residence

2. WORK REQUIREMENTS

Submitted works must meet all of the following requirements:

• A work for up to five players, selected from the available Ensemble Eins instrumentation

• A work for acoustic instruments, with or without electronics

• Maximum duration: 10 minutes

• One work per composer

• The work must not have been publicly performed, presented, or published

※ Private classes, workshops, and reading sessions are not considered public performances.

3. INSTRUMENTATION

Works may be written for up to five players, selected freely from the following instrumentation:

• Flute 1 (Alto Flute and Bass Flute available)

• Oboe 1 (English Horn available)

• Clarinet 1 (Bass Clarinet available)

• Piano 1 (No inside-piano techniques / 88-key electronic keyboard available)

• Violin 1, 2

• Viola 1

• Cello 1

※ Any instrument doubling must be clearly indicated in the score.

4. ELECTRONICS

Works incorporating electronics are welcome.

• Up to 4 channels of audio output

• Fixed Media

• Live Electronics

Applicants must clearly specify all software, hardware, input/output configurations, and other technical requirements at the time of submission.

Composers may be required to provide any specialized equipment that is not available from Ensemble Eins.

5. SELECTION PROCESS

※ Score evaluation will be conducted anonymously. Scores provided to the jury will not contain the composer's name or any other information that could identify the composer.

• 6 works will be selected through anonymous score evaluation.

   02 — READING SESSION

   November 2026

• Ensemble Eins will read the 6 selected works.

• 3 works will be selected for performance.

   03 — WORLD PREMIERE

   December 4, 2026 · Geoam Art Hall, Seoul

• The 3 selected works will receive their world premieres.

• From these, 1 work will be selected for the Final Performance.

   04 — FINAL PERFORMANCE

   December 9, 2026 · Daegu Concert House

• The selected work will be performed.

• The composer of the selected work will be considered for a future commission by Ensemble Eins.

8. RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT

• Results will be announced on the Ensemble Eins website, and selected composers will also be notified individually.

Q&A

Q. How will the Reading Session be conducted?

Selected composers will participate in a Reading Session with Ensemble Eins and discuss their works directly with the performers. If necessary, composers may revise their works in consultation with Ensemble Eins during or following the reading process.

Q. Are composers residing outside Korea required to attend the Reading Session in person?

Composers residing outside Korea may participate online, although in-person participation is encouraged. The exact schedule and format of the Reading Session will be provided separately to the selected composers.

Q. May I revise my work after the Reading Session?

Yes. If your work is selected for performance, you may revise it in consultation with Ensemble Eins. The final score and parts must be submitted by the specified deadline.

Q. Are selected composers required to attend the concerts in person?

Composers residing in Korea are required to attend the concert(s) in which their works are performed. For composers residing outside Korea, in-person attendance is encouraged but not required.

Q. Are travel, airfare, or accommodation expenses provided for the Reading Session or concerts?

Travel, airfare, and accommodation expenses are not provided.

COPYRIGHT, PERFORMANCE & DOCUMENTATION

• Copyright in the work remains with the composer.

• By participating in C10 Project 2026, selected composers agree to the performance of their works as part of the project's Reading Session and concerts, as well as to the recording and use of photographs, video, and audio for documentation and promotional purposes.

• Any public release of complete performance video or audio recordings will be discussed with the composer in advance.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Selection may be revoked if any submitted information is found to be false or misleading.

• Works that infringe upon the copyright or other rights of third parties are not eligible.

• Works that have previously been publicly performed, presented, or published are not eligible.

• Submitted works may not be replaced after the application deadline.

• Works that fall outside the specified instrumentation or the technical and performance capabilities of Ensemble Eins may be excluded from consideration.

• Selection may be revoked if a composer is unable to participate in required stages or procedures of the project.

• Composers whose works are selected for performance following the Reading Session must submit the final score and parts by the specified deadline.
